Budapest • Museums

This museum is located in a former army barracks. The museum has a magnificent collection of weapons and war memorabilia, which are displayed on two floors. The museum has been open to the public since 1937 and was thoroughly renovated after the Second World War. The museum displays objects from the 1848 revolution, the war of independence, both world wars and the 1956 uprising. In addition to these old objects, there are also modern weapons on display that are used today in the Hungarian army. On the first floor, you will find many uniforms worn in the Hungarian army. The uniforms of the famous Hungarian Hussar regiment can also be admired. On this floor, you will also find many scale models explaining battles. The showpiece on this floor is the Huey helicopter. This was mainly used in the Vietnam War.
