Baba Gül tomb (Sight) (Budapest)

Gül Baba (the father of the roses, because he first brought them to Hungary) was an Ottoman Bektashi dervish poet and Sultan Suleiman's companion. Details about his life are blurred in the past, but it is known that he was a highly respected figure. Gül Baba died in Buda in 1541, and according to the legend, the Sultan himself was one of his coffin bearers. After his death he was proclaimed patron saint of Budapest, and his grave, the northernmost place of Muslim pilgrimage in the world, was founded on the Rózsadomb (Hill of the roses). The tomb was restored many times, the tomb is now owned by Turkey. From the tomb there is a beautiful view of the city and in the evening it is a romantic place.
